Welcome to North Carolina Association, Long Term Care Facilities

Friends of Adult Care Web Blog
Adult Care Homes play an integral role in caring for North Carolina’s aging, disabled and mentally ill population. We know that residents and families a like look to us to provide care that is competent, compassionate and quality.

Adult care homes are facing a crisis. Our homes have become the default safety net for many North Carolina citizens seeking quality care in the long-term care system, creating a series of financial and regulatory challenges that have been largely ignored by the state.

The lack of adequate Medicaid funding - compounded by a disjointed and unfocused regulatory approach toward adult care homes - makes it enormously difficult for the homes to provide the quality care that residents need and deserve.

Therefore, NCALTCF is working to form a new coalition of North Carolinians who are committed to assisting the industry to improve the level of care our residents receive; to raise awareness of issues that affect adult care; and to promote needed reform.

PLEASE READ ABOUT THE INTRODUCTION OF FRIENDS in the mini-Focus newsletter being delivered to you. We have already launched the new website address - www.friendsofadultcare.com. On the website, look for the section “How to Get Involved” to obtain information about how to sign up as a “Friend”.
