It is my understanding that some county DSSs are terminating SA for residents due to the decrease in SA checks. You need to know the residents who where eligible September 30th are protected in the law from disenfranchise. A copy of the law is seen below.
If you have residents who have been terminated please call the DSS, send them a copy of the law and ask they be reinstated immediately. If you have problems send me an email with the residents last name, name of facility and county of residence. I will seek assistance from the state for them.

SECTION 10.57.(b) Effective October 1, 2009, the maximum monthly rate for residents in adult care home facilities shall be one thousand one hundred eighty-two dollars ($1,182) per month per resident unless adjusted by the Department in accordance with subsection (d) of this section. The eligibility of Special Assistance recipients residing in the adult care homes on September 30, 2009, shall not be affected by an income reduction in the Special Assistance eligibility criteria resulting from the adoption of this maximum monthly rate, provided these recipients are otherwise eligible.
SECTION 10.57.(c) The maximum monthly rate for residents in Alzheimer/Dementia special care units shall be one thousand five hundred fifteen dollar ($1,515) per month perresident unless adjusted by the Department in accordance withsubsection (d) of this section.
