NCALTCF Mission
- To provide effective leadership and provide assistance to our members that address relevant issues and challenges within the industry
- To unite in fellowship the owners, operators, managers and employees of Assisted Living Homes and to promote professionalism and high standards of it members
- To form partnerships with other agencies and individuals who have an interest in the Aging and Disabled in North Carolina
- To advance the knowledge of the profession by continuing education and advancing the standards to be followed in Assisted Living Homes
- To work cooperatively with the public, private agencies, state agencies, lawmakers and other professionals to ensure that quality of life for residents of Assisted Living Homes are preserved.
NCALTCF Goals
- To promote and support the mission of the North Carolina Association, Long Term Care Facilities.
- To promote and support the concept of assisted living in North Carolina as a cost effective alternative, wanted by the consumer, to premature institutionalization.
- To assure a mechanism of representatives for assisted living resident and providers with agencies and governing bodies that establish law, regulations and policies that affect their lives.
- To promote through such laws, regulations and policies a higher quality of life that recognizes the fundamental rights of all assisted living residents to be independent, to have choices, to be provided with personalized care and to share at their own risk as much as their capacity allows.
- To prevent discrimination in availability of community resources to residents of assisted living homes.
- To promote and support a regulatory context that is based on outcome measures for residents rather than a structural aspect.
- To assure that assisted living providers are treated fair and reasonably with a balance of appropriate incentives as well as punitive measures.
- To assist individual members in solving problems which better enables them to deliver quality services to residents.
- To work with the Governor, the General Assembly, the Department of Human Resources, and other state staff and agencies to ensure social and economic programs that have equitable and fair reimbursement for the quality and level of services being provided to residents.
- To target the public and various other groups or individuals who have a role in monitoring, enforcement, advocacy, and policy making for the purpose of education, support, assistance and encouragement.
- To conduct studies and assist with gathering data to support a meaningful database to be used for initiatives and problem-solving.
- To be knowledgeable and aware of trends from the national level and other states that affect the industry.
